May 22, 2012 - Simon and Garfunkel capture the flavor of a time which expired long ago. We are all searching for the Real America, presently it is nowhere to be found. Thankfully they are still searching. Mark Davis
May 20, 2012 - i listen to rihanna and all the artists people call crap. but at the end of the day whn i listen to this song i remember my childhood :) i will always love this song. all cos of my mum <3
May 19, 2012 - Thank you for explaining what life was like for us there in these days. S & G were the best of the best and still...they are the greatest band in America. Who else has ever gathered 1,000,000 people all peacefully joined together?
May 19, 2012 - search nic chapman 'lucy, she rises'. one of our own great modern folk guitarists from the tradition of paul simon, drake, john Martyn and davy graham.
May 8, 2012 - What a great lyric. Compare it to the stupid, shallow, idiotic lyrics in rap. I can't even believe I've mentioned the two in the same sentence.
May 6, 2012 - It truly is a great and incredibly original song. I noticed that amazingly, there are no rhyming words in the lyrics, which makes it even more unusual.
May 2, 2012 - "America" is not just a good song. It is an artistic high-wire act. From the first opening words you can understand that Paul Simon has taken up the challenge of writing a lyric in which every line is absolutely original and in place. Think about it; can you remember any other song in which includes "some real estate here in my bag" "the man in the gabardine suit" "and the moon rose over an open field" "counting the cars on the New jersey turnpike" etc., etc.?
