Which is quicker around Cadwell Park, car or bike? We pit the new M5 against BMW's hottest superbike to find out Full story here: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/videos/videoreviews/276154/new_bmw_m5_vs_bmw_s1000rr_superbike.html A car as special as the new BMW M5 requires a test drive with a difference. So with that in mind we took it along to Cadwell Park's wet track to see how it compares to BMW's fastest super bike to see which is fastest. The new M5 is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, producing 552bhp and a 0-60mph time of 4.4 seconds. And we've already decided it's a five-star car. But with a starting price of £12,250, the BMW S1000RR is a fraction of the M5's £73k price tag. It has a dry weight of just 178kg and produces 193bhp from its 999cc engine - that's a terrifying 925bhp per tonne -- can go from 0-60mph in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 190mph. In other words, it's very, very fast. Watch the video to find out which one wins. May 25, 2012 - Why do it on a wet track!!! And the guy in the car looks so relaxed, no helmet, like he's not even racing at all!!!
EscarepioSenior Says:
May 25, 2012 - the fact that the track is wet brings disadvantages for both, a little more to the bike so they given 10 seconds ahead, which is a huge adventadge in a small circuit.
SAMFICOM Says:
May 25, 2012 - I suggest to do car vs bike in the snow & ice conditions.
1JORDANAS Says:
May 24, 2012 - Put Ghostrider on the bike, no matter what weather he will win.

May 24, 2012 - We all know the bike would of faired much better had the track been dry. So no biggie.
TheGr33nNinja Says:
May 24, 2012 - Probably because they said so, "If it had been a dry track the car probably wouldn't have caught the bike."

May 22, 2012 - I'm not a biker but i'm also not a narrow minded fuck like you appear to be, calling bikers idiots just because they enjoy two wheels. Grow up.

May 21, 2012 - german car vs. german motorcycle + wet track = unfair :´(
vulture12 Says:
May 21, 2012 - This would have been a better video if they would compare the results on a wet track AND dry track. That said, the bike would definitely take it on a dry track, but the car kicks ass when the surface is anything less than dry or ideal for the bike. I am a rider but we can't keep complaining about racing in a perfect environment(aka the perfect environment for the bike to win)
hkdxsavier Says:
May 21, 2012 - STUPID VIDEO COME BACK IN THE DRY THE BIKE WILL SMOKE THE M5 ALIVE!!!!!!

May 21, 2012 - All that water? Contact patch the size of a walnut? Driving really doesn't take THAT much skill. They really should redo on a better track with less extreme variables.
