Btw, The AC induction motor is brushless and has been so since1888. So brushless is old technology. Also 95% efficiency is the norm for industrial electric 3-phase motors. In fact there exists industrial motors with 98% efficiency.

Mar 26, 2012 - a very rough mesure is about 1/3rd. most ice bikes would be tops of about 20% effcient, electric peaks at about 80-90%. however, once you take drive terain into account, the electric would loose about 5%, the gas maybe 10-15% more (off the 20%, not off 100%), since it runs though a gearbox vs a single chain.

I had trouble with my front wheel lifting so instead of a normal throttle to your controller I used the current throttle option on my "cycle analyst". It throttles your current, so if your maximum current is 300amps you know that half throttle is 150 amps. Much better than a hall effect throttle.
