This is a video I made to give to sponsors for a national championship trials event my club is hosting in July 2010 at Donner Ski Ranch in Truckee, CA. It's meant to showcase some things that can be done on a trials bike with the best riders to people who might not know much about the sport. This is not the final version, just a nearly complete version to get opinions from other members of Sacramento PITS and those involved with the event organization. Thanks to Geoff Aaron and his company, ERE (http://www.ereonline.com/), for allowing us to use his Balancing Act videos to create this. Make sure you buy his awesome videos. Balancing Act 1-4 available on ERE's site. They're all legit. Riders: Geoff Aaron - 10 time national champ Adam Raga - 2005 and 2006 world champ, 4 time indoor world champ Marc Colomer - 1996 world champ Dougie Lampkin - 7 time world champ, 5 time world indoor champ Takahisa Fujinami - 2004 world champ Kenichi Kuroyama Also, the great Jordi Tarrés (7 time world champion) is in there. But as Raga's minder only. Less

Mar 9, 2012 - Holy ####. I attended trials events (mostly in the 70's) and I was blown away by they could do back then. This is (guess the bikes and riders just keep evolving) unbelievable!!! I remember being impressed by a friend's little brother (motocrosser) who could like rider around the farm on the back wheel for 1/2 hour at a time. These guys look like they could just sit on one wheel and eat dinner at the same time.

Mar 9, 2012 - Tank (plastic- for Fuels ONLY) is between the Delta-Box frame-rails from the front fork triple-tree's to the frame & swing-arm mount. The newer bikes (Gas-Gas, Beta, & others) the fuel is stored inside the frame itself. They hold just over 2 litres (.7 U.S gal) of fuel and there are aux. tanks available which mount to the front of the bikes (where the # plate is) and hold an additional 1.1 litres of fuel. No seat because us riders don't set. Dry weight of 160 lbs. ave. Bike...

Jan 27, 2012 - My Dad introduced me to trials when I was a kid, grew up with a '76 175 Yamaha trials and later when I was in my early teens bought my own an '86 Italjet 350 trials, they have come a long ways and continue to evolve as do the riders and the sport itself. I get really tired of explaining to people here in the US what the hell trials is. There is nothing as all-terrain as a trials, they will go even where a horse or person cannot. I can't believe this is not as popular in the US as it should be.

Jan 27, 2012 - I thought I was all that on my Bike when I was a kid......... Now I know for a fact I was just a kid with a bike.

Jan 24, 2012 - Uhm where is the gas tank on these bikes lol, it looks like they just took the seat and tank off like a 230 or something, I know they didnt but still

Jan 9, 2012 - Both are impressive. Why be partisan, both are cool. And while these have motors, a guy on a pedal bike ain't gonna hop up no 30 foot sheer rock face ;)
Bansheerider1979 Says:
Dec 29, 2011 - more impressed with trials riders on regular bikes. these guys have motors to power them...still have some skills though
trackend Says:
Dec 16, 2011 - Come along way from my old OSSA MAR i used to ride but IMO the rule change that allows for all forward motion to stop without any penalty has taken something out of the sport as it gives more time to analise the section before continuing , that said these guys are still very skilfull.

Nov 7, 2011 - I agree, I'm an MX Racer (And on a quad, but Irrelevant) And these people have a ridiculous amount of skill. I couldn't image tellin someone I was a trails racer and them being like what? That must not take much. Which I'm sure happens soo often. -Brodie

Nov 7, 2011 - Its not somethin you just start. You have to be REALLY comfy on a bike first. Then go jump around on a bike and see how ya do! Thats what helmets are for, right?
