May 25, 2012 - I honestly wish I was there to seem them play, the original line up with Duane, at the Fillmore East. Oh well. I have the CD and still listen to them online. What a band. Thanks for posting.
May 23, 2012 - this song gave me hope when i was eating roman noodle soup for breakfast lunch and dinner while i was roofing in the hot hot Albuquerque sun
May 23, 2012 - The mighty Allmans at their best. This song has it all- it's upbeat, it kicks ass musically, and the lyrics say it all with the least amount of words.
The interplay between Duane's and Dickey Betts' guitars during the lead break from 1:26-1:41 is almost too beautiful for words.
May 23, 2012 - Stern is a dope? What leads you to say that? Seems to me hes a great entertainer. No drug habits. Never been in jail. No scandals. I dont get your point.
May 22, 2012 - Well said Princess. Grew up when the Allman Brothers first hit the airways. You are so dead-on with "There's wayyy too much more important stuff goin' on in all of our lives to argue over stuff like this".. I plan on retiring soon. I want to do the traveling like I did in the 70's. I sure hope to be seeing the "real" folk" I met back in the day.
May 22, 2012 - Been to Knoxville a few times back in the 70's.Don't remember the place. But I don't remember a lot of places from back then. Had somethin to do wit the funny brownies my friends girl made.
May 16, 2012 - Dont every city / town have a bar. if they dont have what you need. you probably dont need it. Everyone knows your talking about some kind of drugs. bars that are like the walmart of the under world. The rusty Anchor Bar , John Hills place , the hole in the wall and on & on......... if there was not a need for these kind of bars. there would be no need for a supply line across the country..
May 13, 2012 - I realize nobody knows what I'm referring to, but this is 100 percent Checkerboard Lounge on 25W outside Knoxville, TN. If you couldn't find what you were looking for there, it did not exist. Long live Commander X. What does the X stand for you ask? Excitement of course. Thanks for reading.
May 13, 2012 - These guys were in their early 20's when they came out with this song!! What the hell has happened with music today! Bands today are total crap
