Apr 3, 2012 - I wanted one of these so bad but couldnt get one in my town. Had to settle for the Yamah 650 turbo. The 1150 Suziki could out run it as could most big bikes.

Nov 29, 2010 - I fell in love with this bike all through the summer of 1983 from the magazine articles. As soon as they became available I bought mine in December 1983 as an 84 model. I already had an 82 GPZ-550 but I was totaly addicted to this bike. It was great to ride hard and fast, to race (2 years) and to just ride back and forth around town. I had it for 25 years (2008). It finally blew a head gasket and I started to fix it but got into other projects. I finally parted it out.

Nov 12, 2010 - Chris, if you ever feel the need to sell the old beast, I've got a co-worker droolng over mine... Better still, get the beast back on the road! :)

CHRISTURBOT Says:

Nov 11, 2010 - Bit ashamed to say that my turbo has been sat rotting in a garage for 8 years (much to the disgust of my Kawasaki loving mates!!) On a zzr1400 now which is almost as much fun but does handle a damn site better!!

geonerd Says:

Nov 7, 2010 - A cheap boost controller, increasing boost to ~14psi, and minor mods will give you the HP the bike should have had out of the gate. The handling? Yea, it's interesting. Modern tires do help.

brybish Says:

Sep 11, 2010 - love the bike rode one in 85 c reg my brothers. it was very fast but the tyres were crap and i agree about the R1 comment but i think it felt faster becourse of the 80's tech on the bike. i loved it when the turbo came in.:)

Dec 29, 2009 - Even on this video you can see the way it weaved itself around a corner!! More depressed since the world of the internet when i found out how much they de-tuned the turbo in favour of selling the Gpz900.

Dec 28, 2009 - i owned one in 95 the bike , ran great

CHRISTURBOT Says:

Dec 26, 2009 - I've had one for over 20 yrs now although not on road for last 8. Brill bike, unbeliveably fast but handling was..erm...interesting!! Still love it tho (and its outlived all my women!) but havent seen any on the road for last few years. Moved on to the zzr1400 cos its the only thing that can match the excitement.

Gasmaster57 Says:

Dec 17, 2009 - Cool vid! Surprisingly, though I've been into bikes a long time, I'd never heard of these until yesterday when I saw one in the shop while I was in getting tires put on my bike. Thought maybe they were just one of those overengineered\underwhelming evolutionary dead-ends but it sounds like they were the s**t back in the day!

jadesystem Says:

Nov 4, 2009 - I had the 1982 Yamaha XJ650LJ Turbo Seca a few years ago. It was the worse piece of crap Yamaha ever made, and an arm and a leg at over $6k when new. I only rode it for 100-miles before I got ride of it. It had mounds of problems.

02churmat Says:

Sep 16, 2009 - Fantastic bike, had one of the first in the UK. Good looking, quick, easily better than any other production turbo bike. Anybody own A843 UOX?

summersavannah01 Says:

Sep 8, 2009 - i use to do the same witht he scilencers - did you get a blue conical backflash from them if you shut off at high speed -used to sound like a helicopter - absolutely best bike i ever owned mate !

wstrat2 Says:

Sep 1, 2009 - Bought one brand new in '84. Was the fastest bike on the road that year. It beat all the 1100's and 1200's. I payed a wopping $4200 for it. Somehow, I still have all my body parts.

pman1018 Says:

Jun 28, 2009 - The month and year the prototype for this bike (November 1981) was also the same month and year my sister was born. But, I'm more into motorcycling than she is.

brakenoodle Says:

Mar 10, 2009 - Great bike, bullet like acceleration but my wife wrote mine off hitting a Land Rover head on in 1993...she survived but the GPz750T didn't.
