May 19, 2012 - SO why are local councils LOWERING so many speed limits. A few examples by me - a 70mph dual carrigeway lowered to 40MPH, a 70 to 50 and 60 country road to 50. On all those roads I checked and it's ONLY been accidents involving drunk/drugged drivers, pedestrians who shouldn't have been there and police vehicles at excess speed. Only 2 crashes by the public at low speed in a queue. Driver error! It's to restrict traffic, cause congestion and use it as an excuse to charge to use roads in future.

And cops do stop people who can't drive top conditions, etc. Then those people complain and say they should be catching real criminals and those real criminals probably tell cops they should be out stopping minor offenders.
