Lyrics : Chewing on a piece of grass Walking down the road Tell me, how long you gonna stay here Joe? Some people say this town don't look Good in snow You don't care, I know Ventura Highway in the sunshine Where the days are longer The nights are stronger Than moonshine You're gonna go I know 'Cause the free wind is blowin' through Your hair And the days surround your daylight There Seasons crying no despair Alligator lizards in the air Wishin' on a falling star Waitin' for the early train Sorry boy, but I've been hit by Purple rain Aw, come on Joe, you can always Change your name Thanks a lot son, just the same Ventura Highway in the sunshine Where the days are longer The nights are stronger Than moonshine You're gonna go I know 'Cause the free wind is blowin' through Your hair And the days surround you daylight There Seasons crying no despair Alligator lizards in the air Less

May 26, 2012 - Imagine, a teenaged boy in New Jersey, during the 1970's, hearing this song on the FM radio. Later, in his mid-20's, he would to move to L.A. and drive down the #101 Ventura Hwy. That man is me!!

May 25, 2012 - I with you! I think this song came in 72 or 74... I was 17 in 1977 had a new Pontiac Grand Prix with the factory 8 track, wow I getting old...Those were the days, when music was good and America was putting good looking cars out instead of them all looking alike today. Pontiac made some of the best looking cars of the 60s and 70s in my view. We ride around, with America blasting and filling up with 57cent a gallon gasoline.

May 24, 2012 - See, this just plain isn't fair. When, in 20-30 years I come to reminiscing about late 90s music, I may have a tiny stash to be nostalgic about, but no bell bottoms!

May 22, 2012 - There is still lots of good music being made today, this era has it over the past in terms of quantity, but quality per capita was much much higher in the 60's and 70's.

May 15, 2012 - the song is about a spiritual travel, venture a highway - and Ventura highway, means last road. you better be prepared, after this road, you will be free and go up and up.

May 13, 2012 - I miss the days of my long hair parted in the middle. Some of the great times were going to parties, listening to America and rocking out on all rock and yes drinking and getting stoned. I think that was the generation where music, weed and parties made since.
